The American Athletic Conference, which likes to call themselves part of the Power Six, has signed a major television deal that not only pays well, it provides flexibility to the member schools. While this doesn't compare to the actual Power Five conferences, it's a huge jump up from where they were; $126 million over 7 years. Also, the teams are not tied to a grant of rights, so if any of them wanted to they could join another conference. The major downside is that a lot of games will be shown on ESPN+, which is a paid streaming service.
