Any backstory to this? Am curious to hear your thoughts when you've done it.

The games were good fun. Made some good interceptions, played some nice passes and made plenty of rookie mistakes. Also ran around a lot and played all over the pitch. Had a blast all in all

I will be on my way to Ankara in a few hours with my brother, where we'll buy furniture and electronics for my apartment. I've managed to pack almost all of my stuff into the four suitcases I have, hopefully tomorrow they won't say it's too much at the train station. I'm also on a tight-ish budget, so IDK how much stuff I will manage to sort out. But hey, I'm really moving into my own home, and that's exciting!

I don't really know. I have a lot of free time, and I haven't had free time in years. I front-loaded my courses and pushed myself hard for the past year or two. Now that that's over, for Sept-Dec I have only a two-course term and part-time work.

One course is Software Development Methods, which largely feels like review for me. The bits that won't be review should be very useful. Right now, though, it's boring... we're covering UNIX fundamentals, which... I mean, I fell for the Arch meme when I was a 14-year-old channer so this isn't new for me. The other is my Honours Thesis, which won't even start until my advisor has sorted out her workload. She's a Big Deal at my uni, so I imagine she has a lot to work through at the beginning of the term. My part-time work is under her too, so... ???

I'm trying to think of things to do to fill the void. I went to a local screening of My Neighbour Totoro which was lovely, and I'm excited for upcoming #GhibliFest showings too. Apart from that, I want to maybe try and make friends again... I'm sitting in the Pride room right now, but everyone here is kind of keeping to themselves. I'd feel weird approaching someone. I might try and seek out events on campus over the coming weeks. My therapist should help with ideas too, I guess.

After 2 years of b.s. legal crap, I just finally settled my inheritance with my half-sister whom I haven’t seen since she was 4 yrs old. She got the money, I got dad’s farmhouse in Poland.

Life is really weird. Went from living in a tiny Santa Monica apartment, to a house on the Polish/Czech border.

I will be shoveling 6 tons of coal for the winter that will be delivered tomorrow. I can’t believe I am dealing with coal. This is the 21st century, correct?

I am researching PV solar+geothermal heat pump for next year. The costs for that are pretty steep, so I need to work my butt off this next year.

I am learning all about house maintenance now. TIL that if a gutter is messed up, the house will sink on that side and there will be cracks in the wall.

Spent 3 hours weed whacking today. Yard looks great, I’m a happy Polak.

Why did you move from CA to Poland? Was it because of the house or something else? That sounds like a lot of work but really rewarding at the same time. Congrats and good luck!

Yeah, it was to secure the house, and deal with all of this. She lives in UAE, so it was all on me to take care of things on the ground.

The timing was actually ok for me, aside from the death part and all... I had just had a startup business fail in California, was recently single, so major upheaval was almost welcome.

        Edit: and thanks u/tunneljumper!

Most of my time this week is going to be consumed by writing. My sociology class and my english class both have papers due by the end of this month, so I'll be working on drafts for those and trying to complete them early. I also still have the eternally unpublished "blog" post that I need to finish, but I've been rewriting a lot of it, partly thanks to the fact that I've been diving back into the concept of personal wikis, partly thanks to comments and opinions in this topic.

Other than stuff for school, I'd like to work more on the task management program I'm writing. It's coming along relatively well so far, but I haven't been spending as much time on it as I'd like.

This semester's programming class requires us to build three different programs by the end. I might make this task management program one of those.

That's... kind of it, actually. I just discovered today that the school I'm attending has a tabletop club. I might check it out one day, since my last group for D&D and other tabletop stuff doesn't seem like they'll be back together for a while.

My partner is working evenings this week (Mon-Thurs) so I'll be left to my own devices. I'm back to work from a staycation now so at least I have work passing the time haha.

I'm going to try to work on my plat/action prototype, as I want to refine all the mechanics into a state machine, which is something I'm not very familiar with doing, as well as find a feasible method for level shifting, as I don't have one yet.

The level shifting thing is tough because it cannot function entirely the same way that a Zelda NES/GB style one would, due to variable level sizes affecting the camera. Unfortunately there's not a lot of tutorials for that in Godot.

I kind have gotten myself into a consistent routine. I work overnights, so my sleep schedule is wonky. So, I go to work, come home, shower, eat, sleep, watch some Youtube, and repeat. There will be laundry in there somewhere, as well as some cleaning. On the weekend I'm hoping to catch up with a few friends over some Fibbage.
