I've seen the claim, but haven't seen evidence for it yet. I was thinking that it was the beginning of the end for Reddit when "u/spez" (Reddit CEO Steve Huffman) was caught editing comments that were critical of him [1]. This was back in 2016. If the claim is true in this particular case, then they're about to experience the full force of the Streisand Effect [2], but ultimately Reddit has been awash with criticisms about their moderation practices as long as they have existed. I don't think this is especially damning compared to similar other instances of this sort of behavior by Reddit admins.
