I wonder what a future would look like if more municipalities had somewhat more autonomous utilities? ...I'm thinking of smaller but indie electric grids, and municipal internet, etc. Sure, commerce and other things need to span to other towns, etc. But such a possibility does intrigue me. I, for one, wish for things like NYC Mesh to flourish - among other good reasons it helps decentralize control and reduce single points of societal failure.
