I am actually very interested in the release of Tiger Lake and Xe, since I plan on buying a new laptop this year. I might end up getting one of the already-released Ice Lake laptops if they go on an extraordinary sale soon, but otherwise I am almost certainly going to be picking up a Tiger Lake device in Q4.
Actually, I would love to get an AMD-equipped laptop, especially with the new Renoir devices coming out, but for some reason, AMD laptops still do not come with Thunderbolt 3 and I do not really know why (it is not a hardware limitation, as far as I know).
Unfortunately, having at least one Thunderbolt 3 port is a requirement for me.
Double unfortunate, it seems like recent Ice Lake laptops are suffering performance regressions in Linux 5.6 and 5.7:
