I'm currently going through Elden Ring as someone who really isn't into Souls-likes: Precise combat that requires exact timing makes me lose patience and get frustrated, vague story communication just gets me lost, etc.
Saying all that, I'm now almost 200 hours into the game, and I think I'm nearing some sort of ending? I'm not sure if I made it so far due to frustrated perseverance, or the game is actually that good and it tricked me. The opaque story is still there, the frustrating combat has only been bypassed by me going the sorcery route and upgrading my blasting powers. It's very polished and well done, but I'm not actually sure what is pulling me forward other than just the desire to see it through...
