Though I’m a casual gamer, I’ve used a dedicated box for gaming (neighbor friend’s Atari, arcade games, eventually my own Nintendo) since before I had a PC (yeah, obvious kid of the 80s, games on a computer were too associated with school to be cool). I wobbled a bit around 1999 (when I got my first mac, lol, because it came bundled with a pretty cute dinosaur game that I enjoyed), but even now, almost a quarter century later, I console game 99.9% of the time—PS5, disk version (like most older folks, I prefer to own my games and think a license-only offering practically constitutes criminal exploitation of buyers). Digital only and online only experiences on the console may eventually push me to PC, just because you can curtail unfair licensing crap and access a huge back catalog of games (even some old console games with, for example, PS emulators). And, yes, it will be a sad day for me when my PS2 finally kicks it.
