And then they found us again and we killed them all. Not sure why we didn't lead with that, but it wasn't my plan.

I play in a small game doing the 5e Curse of Strahd usually once a week (sometimes less). It's been a lot of fun. The DM is modifying the campaign pretty heavily. We have fought giant trees, little trees, (no medium sized trees yet). I got my ass kicked by a broom. I tried to sleep with a ghost (and almost got killed). So far we've only had one PC death (eaten by a giant tree, dissolved by it's acidy sap before I could save him). The DM has suggested that we all make backup characters ahead of time, because it's going to start getting harder though.

I really want to run a Star Wars: Edge of the Empire campaign (or play in one) but it's hard to find the time. I can barely do D&D once per week for 4-5 hours.

I like ME:A too, but yeah there is a lot of really bland parts. It feels like they wanted to go back to Mass Effect 1 in some ways, and I felt the Mako parts of ME1 were the most boring parts of the game. Just dry "drive 5 minutes here. Now drive 5 minutes here" filler, and ME:A had that in droves.

Having a LOT of quests with no map markers (or even some indication of what planet those quests should be done on) doesn't help either.

I liken it to Arkham: Origins. It's probably the worst game in the series but if you like the series you won't hate it and it's worth playing at least once.

I really like Puerto Rico. Something about having your own playspace to manage, while still being able to mess with other players, is really satisfying.

I've been reading Noumenon by Marina Lostetter. It's a series of vignettes about a colony of space ships that travels from earth in the near future thousands of years to a distant star that appears to have some man(alien) made substance or unique element around it. the ships population are all clones of the original few thousand something crew.

It reminds me a bit of Asimov, in that it comes off as hard sci-fi but focuses on human problems rather than the technical details.

Apparently a sequel is coming out later this year, which I'm pretty excited for.
