I wanted to provide some validity to the OP: On wikipedia, when I use the mouse to highlight any text in the top 1/3 of the webpage, it starts to scroll up rapidly.
I am not using the scroll wheel. I am not highlighting multiple lines. I highlight just a word, and the page scrolls up. The higher up on the page I highlight, the faster it scrolls. This happens even when I highlight text in the sidebars (IE, "Contents" and "Appearance")
