Because plenty of people are happy with 1440p 144 instead of having to spend a crazy amount to upgrade to 4K and still have to lock to 60 due to poor optimization. I’m still running a 2600K and 1070TI for casual level 1440p gaming and that’s more than sufficient. It also seems like there hasn’t been a wow factor worth of improvement in several GPU generations now.
