Any of Button Shy's -Opolis games are convenient and challenging solo experiences. Under Falling Skies has more to set up but has loads of replayability and can really conjure tension.

I bow to your experience and fully understand your argument but my visit to Berlin on my honeymoon was one of the most culturally enriching experiences I could ever have hoped for. We stayed in Prenzlauer Berg and we're spoiled for choice when it comes to eating and drinking. We visited day spas and art galleries - Liquidrom and Hamburger Bahnhof, both repurposed train stations. The Stasi Museum was chilling and a brilliant act of preservation both of evidence and history. Teufelsberg, the Olympic stadium, and Grunewald will be repeatedky visited by us on our future visits. The cafe culture and evidence of a healthy work/life balance in the population made for a very relaxing atmosphere. The architecture throughout the city is fascinating and its public transport infrastructure makes it a pleasure to stroll around aimlessly. Konnopke's Imbiss is my heaven. Again, I can't speak for other German Cities but I found Berlin to be a wonderful and rich city to visit and I will be going back there as often as life allows.

    Captain Sonar

Two teams of four, a submarine per team and an island peppered ocean to track each other down in. Each team member has a role. Engineers try and keep the systems running, first mates bring weapons and stealth online, radar operators listen for the movements of their opponents and try to work out their position and captains take plot the course and take actions based on what everyone else has achieved. It's in real time and it really ramps up the tension. Great for team building I imagine as everyone working together is essential for success and everyone can take a leadership role.

I'm a huge fan of Geowizard but lately I've been conflicted. Here in the UK there's been a lot of uproar about a social media personality trespassing inside people's homes and raising ruckuses in shops and town centres. The personality is a young, black male - which I believe is relevant as the most vituperative of their opponents are the Mail and other tabloids who are notorious for fomenting xenophobia. There have been calls to put them in prison. I see this hatred towards the tiktoker and as a homeowner can understand the violation that they've committed but how far removed are Geowizard's videos from this? I was disturbed when he went through the grounds of a retirement building block as I wondered if there were vulnerable people in there. Yet I still watch, cheer him on as he ingeniously creates desire paths through brick, mortar and barbed wire. As an advocate of the right to roam and a hater of the right-wing press in this country I am conflicted between championing Geowizard's expeditions and the vilification of the tiktok Herbert. I totally understand that criminal damage, terrorising shoppers and occupying people's homes are beyond the pale but Geowizard has committed albeit milder, similar acts. This is not a judgement on either party and in fact I'm grateful that these episodes of trespass have occurred so that I can examine my position on private property, domestic and commercial and the right to roam. I'm just flagging up my conflict and would be interested in hearing other opinions on it.

So far, Cascadia and Under Falling Skies. My appreciation for UFS increases each play. I realise that the luck element should be frustrating but I think it fits the theme and I enjoy poring over all of the suboptimal options I have. I played half a campaign before my curiosity took over and I opened all of the modules but I think I'm ready to go back and play a campaign properly now.
