It’s a mystery box show from some of the same people who were involved with “Lost”. “FROM unravels the mystery of a nightmarish town in middle America that traps all those who enter. As the unwilling residents fight to keep a sense of normalcy and search for a way out, they must also survive the threats of the surrounding forest; including the terrifying creatures that come out when the sun goes down.” It throws all of these questions and mysteries at you from the start and (very) slowly starts to answer some of them. Has some decent suspense and horror elements to it too. Few jump scares here and there to keep you on your toes.
The writing/acting can be questionable at times, and there are some pacing issues, but I absolutely love the show. The premise/plot is just so interesting. I haven’t gotten this obsessed with a new show in a while, so even with its flaws I will always recommend it!
I am planning on binging the new second season of The Bear this weekend. While not particularly interested in food/cooking myself, the first season was still incredible. I checked it out initially because I like Jeremy Allen White (from his time on Shameless), and I thought he did a fantastic job. It was definitely a nice little unexpected surprise last year. And for season 2 to release exactly 1 year later is great. Seems like most shows these days leave you waiting much longer for new seasons.
