A lot of great travel advice here, so I'll stick more to the cars side of things!

If you're driving from Amsterdam to the 'Ring, it's only a slight detour to go by Spa as well! Unless things have changed since the last time I was there, one of the public parking lots is right by the base of Eu Rouge. So crazy to see how tall it actually is in real life! And, the roads between Spa and the 'Ring are tiny and kind of cool!

For the 'Ring, I have rented a prepped track car. I don't know your experience, but depending on how hard you drive, you could easily boil the brakes on a regular rental car and leave your experience lacking. I have used Rent4Ring, friends have used RSRNurburg, and the internet loves Misha & Trackspeed. There are a number of other companies who do rentals and/or rides. If you're only going to go to gearhead Mecca once, do it right!! Don't forget to have some extra time to just check things out. There's a lot of parking at Bruennchen and you can do a little hike over to the Karussell.

The new Porsche museum is amazing! Talk to your local dealer ahead of time and they can help arrange you a tour inside the factory. The Merc factory is cool, but a totally different feeling, similar to BMW and VW. VW's Autostadt is pretty awesome, but many hours away up north. Just about every company host tours, but they often need to be scheduled ahead of time, sometimes with the help of your local dealer.

One other related museum in Munich which was surprisingly awesome was the
Deutsches Museum Verkehrszentrum. They had all sorts of random awesomeness such as the first 911, the hydrogen BMW 7, the first turbo F1 car, a history of pneumatic tires, a landspeed semi truck, and even some trains.

    What's still on my list:

    • The Loh collection
    • Bilster Berg trackday

Motorsport is hard to miss in Germany! Stoked for you, have a blast, and reach out if you want any extra details!

Money doesn't necessarily change you, it just exaggerates who you already were.

You a kind person? Well now you have a lot more opportunities to be generous!
You an asshole? Well now you have a lot more opportunities to be a part of an Epstein group!

As someone said to me last week, "I want to watch motor-racing (<3 Masi) and not a parade of who can get the best mileage from their multimillion euro Prius.

I love the engineering and development side of things; it's absolutely fascinating! Having said that, I still want to see some of the best drivers in the world performing incredible feats of physics. I worry we're going to be subject to 2 or 3 years of a keyboard battle of which software engineers get the programming correct because drivers are now just passengers more than ever.

Prediction- It will be like every major rule change on the past 20-30 years. One or two teams will get it right and have a huge advantage for two years. Every other team will slowly close the gap over the next few years. Some drivers will adapt to the new style better than others. And when we finally have incredible racing, it will be time for the next major rule change.

People struggle with that level of defense/attack in a Sprint format. Being the closing minutes of a 24hr race deserves a bit of understanding and I'm glad the race wasn't decided by a Steward after the fact.

This is going to be very interesting to follow! Does it stop at just a monetary penalty, or would there be legacy championship implications like removing the title from HAM?

One nitpick here is to be very careful with #3 (downshifting) in snow/slippery surfaces! "The rolling wheel gets the grip." Downshifting is creating rolling resistance similar to braking. In this scenario, if your resistance is higher than available grip, sliding will occur. If you're sliding because of too much resistance, manipulating the brake pedal is infinitely quicker/more modular than attempting to change to a higher gear.

I'm sure there are internal political pressures driving this, but on the surface, how does this make sense for Yuki??

Yuki would go from being the clear #1 in the 5th fastest car, to (at best) the #2 in the 4th fastest car. At worst, he will be the third driver in as many races to struggle to make it out of Q1 and will wipe out a lot of the reputation he has built over the years and end his career, see Checo.

Roy's has a few locations. It's a bit fancier, but the food is quite good. The chocolate souffle dessert is amazing! If you only eat one thing, make it the souffle:

The Polynesian Cultural Center is really interesting, although it's pricey and not everyone's thing. They host a luau every night and the food is pretty decent. No booze though.

Horner said in an interview yesterday that their update to the floor edges was trialed on Friday, but removed for qualifying. He said it was the same as in Monza.

I agree with OP, I believe their, typically, strength of a low deg setup has become their weakness for Singapore. It just looks like they can't get the tire to light up and bite. In a full green flag race (unlikely) I think a podium is the optimistic result for Max.

Caveats- it won't be a full green flag race and Horner stretches the truth...
