I have nothing to say but Sainz's DRS play with Norris was sublime. Sainz has really demonstrated some ability lately.

Just brilliant, he spent the whole race calculating the situation, such a deserved victory.

As Max would say, that was simply lovely. He's the smooth operator for a reason.

It was so wholesome seeing him and his race engineer singing "Smooth Operator" afterwards. Also, the pit board from Ferrari also had "SMOOTH" on it (only saw this on Channel 4's highlights).

I'd been saying for a while that if Red Bull is going to lose at any track, it would be this one, but even I didn't expect them to have this big a dropoff. It's possible their low deg helps them in the race the way it hurt in qualifying, but they have really got a lot of work cut out for them tomorrow.

Spent a lot of the race glad about the result, but kind of bored by the actual race. But as soon as Mercedes pitted, man, what a show. Think Hamilton could've won this if he was up front, George did a lot of damage getting desperate.

    Spanish National Anthem today!

I'm just going to throw this out here before the race:

    LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Finally. One race where Red Bull isn't going to dominate. I can feel it in my bones. This race is going to be good. Honestly, with good pitstops and strategy, any one of the top 5 teams (except Redbull, Piastri and Stroll) could win and that excites me.

Hello, this is me after the race and I do NOT regret leaving this comment because, my god, what a thriller of a race. That battle for P1 was INSANE. The Carlando DRS move was genius. From the time Ferrari didn't put Sainz up to, like, lap 59, I just had a pit in my gut as the Mercedes approached. They were a second quicker every lap, and then that happened.

Liam Lawson, 3rd race and equalling the amount of points his team had before this race, truly great driver. Poor Yuki, second race in a row he doesn't even get to participate in! Ocon too, but I'm not sure what happened with him. Was it a PU failure?

Piastri had a brilliant drive from P17 to P7, shame he didn't qualify better because I think he'd have had a chance at a higher position, maybe even a podium!

It's truly shocking to me that I felt this, but I did feel bad seeing the Red Bulls just getting passed when they were on those hards. It was saaaaad. Oh well, they'll suffice with 23/24 races won I suppose 😅

Piastri really does seem like the real deal, doesn't he? I didn't get to see qualifying, what happened that he ended up in P17? Was it a poor result for him or was there some incident? His racecraft often seems very mature, very sharp. I wonder if the Singapore circuit is intimidating for a rookie? Even with experience, it must be a terrifying track to qualify on.

The Stroll crash happened right in front of him which is just incredibly unfortunate for him. If you rewatch some of the angles you can see his car turn the corner as stroll smashes into the barrier.

I think people will look back at what Verstappen has done and be amazed. That being said, right now it's pretty boring to watch. Excited that it's not a RB front row today. Hopefully we see some really good racing today.

All of that is NOTHING compared to my Haas boys starting positions. I want a lap one crash that some how knocks out the Ferraris and the RBs allowing K-Mag and Nico to get pole.

KMag got a point. That's pretty much the best that Haas can expect over a full race with their tyre burner.

I'm a Günther Steiner stan and the way he admitted when they had no clue why they did so well in quali was hilarious. Glad they snagged a point this race at least.

I agree with OP, I believe their, typically, strength of a low deg setup has become their weakness for Singapore. It just looks like they can't get the tire to light up and bite. In a full green flag race (unlikely) I think a podium is the optimistic result for Max.

Caveats- it won't be a full green flag race and Horner stretches the truth...

what a great race. For anyone with F1TV, check out the last few minutes of the race on the F1 Kids stream. The one boy is a natural. Sainz was a god today.

I really wish we had a few alternate streams -- like one that tracks specific drivers using the FIA cams instead of just the on board. A feed that tracked the midfield would be gold.

But favorite drivers aside, I honestly wish the end of every race was like this. It's so refreshing to see actual racing down to the last lap like this after race after race where Max was like a minute ahead of everyone else the whole race.

Apparently a technical directive was issued about aero flexibility, anyone knows whether that affected Red Bull so much? This is what I refer to.
