White Christmas as probably the best all rounder.
Baldersnatch if someone need to fidget.
Hang the DJ and San Junipero for obvious reasons.
    Striking Vipers for gender discussions.

Really a solid run from S1-3 with a smattering of goodish stuff afterwards.

I remember one of the last ones I watched was Matrix/Old Boy/Raid homage with the main stick figure fighting through hallways and floors, complete with sick executions, slo no, bullet time, etc.... essentially John Wick before John Wick

Kinda in limbo with games at the moment. Don't really want to start into anything too seriously with Starfield so close now.

I am not too good at recommending artists specifically as it's more of put on in the background type music for me.
I have quite enjoyed listening to the Melodic Progressive channel on di.fm over the years.

This was one of the major reason I had time engaging with reddit over the years. I would spend a lot of time crafting a well thought out response, editing my viewpoint to make it clearer, cleaning up spelling and so on. Then my post would get buried towards the bottom of the thread, my thoughts lost under an avalanche of quips and puns.

SkillUp is my favourite reviewer currently. (Honorable mention to: WorthABuy) We don't always see eye to eye on certain games, and we also don't share the love for certain genres but he is honest, and states his opinion. His review of FFXVI seems spot on overall, and did encapsulate the vibe I've been getting from all the marketing of FFXVI so far, and put to words the utter lack of excitement I have around a new mainline FF. (I have previously adored this franchise, but honestly think Square has lost their way with FF as far back as 11/12. Though I do like some of the deconstruction happening in the FFVII remake.) It's DMC with some vague FF trappings around it.

Norris' penalty seems so odd. Unsportsmanlike for going slow during the safety car period? He even said in his post race interview (paraphrased) "if I am within my delta, why does it matter? lots of cars speed up and slow down at different times, to keep their tyres in the window. if this is a penalty, then lots of cars should be getting penalized"

Apparently, he was 50km/h slower then Piastri through the same corner but again, if he's keeping to the 10 sec delta it just seems odd.

(Note: Norris is my favorite driver on the grid, so I do have a bias with him. Still doesn't make sense though.)

There are a few that were always part of my daily rotation, and then other ones that would come and go as my interest waxed and waned.

On the more consistent rotation: r/formula1, r/formuladank, r/dankchristianmemes, a bunch of board gaming stuff (mini printing/painting,etc), a smattering of gaming related stuff (really sad about r/Steamdeck Edit: apparently it's back?) a few different game specific ones and lately a bunch of ADHD subreddits.

Losing the really specific niche ones hurt the most. It was always a great feeling to find a new interest and see an entire community already existed. That being said, not being on reddit is probably a net positive.

I have an Ender 3 Pro and a Eryone Thinker SE. I print all sorts of things for various projects but mostly have been working on terrain for an eventual Battletech campaign. I haven't been doing much printing lately though as I kind of tackle it when I have the patience for troubleshooting and lately have been tied up in other things.

I definitely run into the most issues with bed leveling and hot end jams. I recently got a BLtouch for my Thinker and it's has been pretty good so far. However, I had to update the firmware to get it to recognize the touch and now I am having issues where the print will just cut out around the 4-5ish hour mark. The whole printer just freezes up, and I have to power cycle to bring it back. So obviously something is wrong with the firmware but I haven't gone back and tried to fix it yet. So it sits quietly. Taunting me. :)

This is also being seen at the opposite end of the spectrum as well. People (myself included) will pay extra for early access to a launch date.

re Nintendo's practices: I agree that in theory this will condition the consumer to wait for a sale and potentially devalue a brand. "Ubisoft games are always on sale 3 months after release, I will just wait."

But, overall this generally has the opposite effect on me. Unless a Nintendo game is really what I am looking for, why would I spend my limited gaming budget on 1 title when I can get 3-4 other titles (albeit older or not Nintendo quality).

I have always been a lurker/infrequent poster on most forums dating all the way back to old BBS posts, but as the years have gone on I have increasingly lurked more and posted less, Reddit being no exception. In my near daily (lurking) use of Reddit, it is (in my estimation) been rotten for a while. But like any large entity, it takes a while for the affects of that rottenness to become apparent to more observers. Bots, low effort posts, reposts, the evolution of meta posting, increasing segregation and division. And yet I continued to lurk. Because what would my one voice do against that tide.
"I've realized it's time I began contributing at tilde..." really resonated with me. I am very new to tildes but the feel of this place is like a breath of fresh air in the world of an increasingly corporate internet and reminds me of an earlier time. Old lurking habits may die hard and while Reddit maybe rotten, I am going to contribute my voice to tildes.
