I've been getting a lot more into Gotye recently. A deeper look into his discography that isn't just "Somebody I Used To Know" revealed some really great stuff. The entirety of Like Drawing Blood is masterful, it's just like nothing I've ever heard before. If you're a little bored of the music you're listening to now I'd 100% recommend listening to Like Drawing Blood, at the very least it will be a weird ride.

    Close to the Edge

This whole album made me realize my passion for music and how powerful it can be. Before getting into Yes and prog rock in general I never had much of an emotional connection to music, I liked 80's rock and that was about it but on my first listen of And You And I that changed. I realized that music, and just music, could tell a story (the lyrics were complete nonsense) and that threw me down a rabbit hole to keep on finding music that made me feel things. Now my musical palette is about the size of an oil tanker. The album isn't for everyone, it's still prog rock after all but I highly recommend at least trying out a couple songs to get a feel. Maybe don't start with the title track though, 20 minutes is quite a long time, just stick with And You And I or Siberian Khatru.

I actually just made a post about it but Japanese hip hop.

One of my favourites right now is Dongurizu, they have some delightfully cheesy music with some of the most interesting production I've heard in a long time. These are some of my favourites:

    Powerful Passion

    Domingo

    Promenade

Another personal favourite of mine is ZETTAKUN, his whole Bed Trip EP is great. Great production, super pretty and surprisingly interesting harmony and some gorgeous vocal lines. Some of my favourites off the EP:

    Parallel New Days

    温泉街♨︎

The whole world of Japanese hip hop and Japanese not-pop is incredibly interesting so feel free to PM me if you want some more recommendations!

I've been getting a little bit more into Japanese music, specifically hip-hop, and it's been really interesting. Basically everything is different, the production is very unique compared to a lot of modern western acts with a lot more emphasis on harmony and melody instead of bass and rhythm, and it's a lot more cheesy in a delightful way. Obviously I can't say anything about the lyrics but the rapping style in a lot of Japanese Hip Hop is just different, it's faster, and more straight with less syncopation and extenuation. The whole world of Japanese Hip Hop is honestly just a really nice breath of fresh air in a world dominated by trap in western acts (though I do still like me some good trap).

Skyrim, I've obviously played it before (multiple times) but this time I decided to really get into it. And I think it's probably the best game ever made. I finally actually did the DLC, and it's honestly almost better than the main game, Dragonborn and Dawnguard are some of the best RPG experiences I've ever had, everything that happens on Solstheim is just insane. If any of you just have it in your library I'd really recommend giving it another go and getting obsessed, it's worth it.
