While I agree that a search feature would be of interest, I am deeply concerned that it will NOT achieve what you state (i.e preventing people from making the same posts over and over again)....
While I agree that a search feature would be of interest, I am deeply concerned that it will NOT achieve what you state (i.e preventing people from making the same posts over and over again).
People that want an answer fast will post a new topic, even if there was already 1,2 or 10 in the past week.
On Reddit, one feature made me realize that I was reposting and that feature was the fact that, sometime , posting twice the same link was recognized and it actively told me that there was already a post like the one I was going to create.
On the other hand, nothing except moderators ever prevented anyone from creating a new text post similar to previously posted ones.
And that task is especially difficult when the amount of people using the service keep increasing
