So back in ps1 times, or even the PC port of FF7 the characters/story was widely liked and recieved, and also the cinematics that the game had in those days already gave quite an appeal to characters which you now see fully fleshed out.

I think there was so much lore/character design that everything fits into place in both, just in remake we get side characters with a lot more backstory, some even their own focus like Jessie in first game.

The scale is much bigger in remake, everything is cinematic and detailed to the limit, in the originals you would have to go through blogs and sites full of fanfiction to uncover the mysterious bits behind some areas, some characters.

Calling it a remake is hard, because even though the same things happen, its like a meta-sequel , there are some things that add or even differentiate from the original story... unfortunately it makes it sometimes much more annoying and longer than it needs to be.

It becomes too anime/goofy from time to time and that is ok to me.

Also the music, i think it was elevated to perfection, just the final fantasy music composition is enough to tell the story of a game, here having fully fleshed out songs, with full instruments and not just the playstation soundboard makes it incredible.

It's kind of a 'self-insert' genre, in where there is really never a challenge for anything the MC does, i think at least at first you saw the grind of his progression, but really never the struggle...

I don't know where it's going yet, but feels slightly copy-paste the entire season, just put a bigger boss in front, see other S-level characters die, he will kill it somehow without much problems, and repeat over and over again...
