Anime wasn't really big where I'm from when I was young (Pokemon was big and Maya the Honeybee it basically a classic), or at...I got into it around the end of high-school, basically on a whim. Anime wasn't really big where I'm from when I was young (Pokemon was big and Maya the Honeybee it basically a classic), or at least I didn't connect the dots until after I actually got into anime. I was getting little tired of Western TV production and felt like I could do with a change of pace. Out of all things I picked up the Rebuild of Evangelion movies. I though it was great and just started binging show after show (FMAB, Hellsing, Death Note, the classics...). I can honestly partially attribute dropping out of uni in the first semester to anime, lol.
Same. I got it recently when the first news of Youtube blocking ad blockers surfaced. I was already eyeing some music streaming service so it just kind of made sense. I'm not thrilled about the price (or paying subscription in general), but I genuinely have very few issues with Youtube (its recommendations work for me) and YT Music is great at building playlists for me, so it seems like a pretty fair deal. I still keep few Patreon subscriptions going, but usually only $1/month (so I don't get anything but a good feeling out of it).
