I’m using a iPhone 13 mini, let WhatsApp use background activities and notifications and have it synced to two computers. I use it for messaging and voice calls, and it has never been the most heavy usage app on my phone. I’d check the diagnostic logs to see if there is a particular issue : in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Analytics Data.
What I’d do these days is either look for all WhatsApp-* files , or take all files with the same date timestamp, and feed it to an llm asking it to explain what happened. I successfully solved a battery drain with a different app (webtoon) this way.

I've recently switched from Spotify to a mix of self-hosted (with navidrome) and Qobuz, and I didn't anticipate how much the editorial approach of Qobuz would push me to discover new artists. I used Soundiz to migrate my playlist, and it worked mostly fine. Occasionally when something is not available on Qobuz, I listen to it on YouTube, but I'd say it has been maybe a couple albums only so far.

Looking it up pushed me to order the kit, but it’ll be a while before I receive it i think.

One interesting route is to mod a casio f91w with a step counter, like the ollie watch kit. IIRC it has some limited smarts about it, but you could use it just as a step counter.

I’ve been on a habibi funk listening spree- they’re focused on arab songs from the 70-90s with a very eclectic selection.
