    Yeah, but there are examples like sports where just having an icon next to your name so you can quickly be identified as a fan of a certain team is so useful.

    I'm not the world's biggest NBA fan, mainly because individual players can have this kind of impact on the league. I don't really see how anything can be done about it, it's just the nature of a sport with only five players on a team at a time. But man is it boring seeing the same dude in the finals for eight straight years.
