I think reddit is at its best when it comes to Sports. Baseball and Soccer general subs are fantastic and tends to be a pretty healthy mix of memes, hot takes, and in depth discussion. the user flair demonstrating what each users favorite team is really lends context to the discussion threads and jokes too; and overall it's a whole part of Reddit that just seems untouched by the trolling, astroturfing, and narrative wars that the other big ticket general discussion realms can descend into.
I'm new to tildes so i don't know what the mission statement is, but I'd spend more time here is there was a subdivision for different sports discussion and a flair mechanic to identify who's repping which team in each comment thread.
