Good reminder for me to eventually get around to Mushoku Tensei, Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War, Rurouni Kenshin 2023, and some others that people seem to like.

Hopefully others have more opinions to share about the rankings?

The first episode of Zom 100 is insanely (probably unsustainably) high quality. Half way through the season they started having to take breaks, causing delays and at the end of the season when they lost their TV slot three episodes were left unaired and the show was placed on indefinite hiatus. That sort of thing is very irritating if you're trying to keep up with a story.

In my opinion despite some positives this season was especially bland and mediocre (sorry if this is a downer!) Fall season is looking better.

I haven't watched this latest season of Mushoku Tensei yet. It's a beloved show for a number of reasons (including, in the past, high production standards), but also highly controversial due to certain problematic beats and character traits.

Reminds me of Attack on Titan, which set such a high bar at the beginning, and then quickly became infamous for its disastrous production setbacks. I had some complaints about the way that story went early on, too; so that together with the major pacing issues was a great way to kill interest, sadly.

Attack on Titan story complaint It happens early on in the story, but I hated how they revived Eren and did all this magical transformation stuff. Thought it was going to be a story about adapting and recovering from impossible desperate situations. I thought the secondary unlikable male character might become the new main character as a huge twist. But then it turned into a tropey anime story instead. /rant
