The wonderful thing about Tezuka is that beyond his influence, which is rightfully recognized by most, his more traditionally "artful" and "serious" work is also some of the best anime has to offer. Tales of the Street Corner is my favorite example of Tezuka that's worth approaching as an adult and animation lover...something like Astro Boy is important, to be sure, but not necessarily all that rewarding of a watch.
