What have you been watching / reading this week? (Anime/Manga)
What have you been watching and reading this week? You don't need to give us a whole essay if you don't want to, but please write something! Feel free to talk about something you saw that was cool, something that was bad, ask for recommendations, or anything else you can think of.
If you want to, feel free to find the thing you're talking about and link to its pages on Anilist, MAL, or any other database you use!
Recently reading Hanging Out with a Gamer Girl (Pixiv Previews), on MangaDex as translated Pixiv comics. Not going to link, not sure about what everyone thinks of linking to MangaDex given the kinda legal gray area of fan translations and such. But anyhow, I'm excited for them to track down the raws, because I'm really loving this thus far. The characters are fun and the story is nice and simply, just a cute enjoyable read.
On the anime side, I've been sticking with my slower watching for awhile now. Not really rushing or binging any shows, just watching an episode or two whenever I feel like. IDK, I feel like I have a bunch to watch but don't have much motivation to watch any of them.
I've personally been binging old seasons of JJBA and Konosuba at this point- just something nice and comfortable to watch.
Apparently there's a movie out for Konosuba, it has mixed reviews, but it might be worth catching up on once it hits streaming.
So I think what I'm going to follow this season is Irumakun, Bookworm, Hero Aca and Stars Align, since everything else I kind of have an idea about. Really the only thing that I'm really into is Stars, so, light season I guess.
I just found out about Spy X Family. Pretty cool and funny manga about a spy who has to suddenly form a family to accomplish his mission.
Is it about to end? I haven't been following it for quite some time.
Cool, I'll probably try to catch up reading it soon.
Finally ended both seasons. Season 2 is definitely weaker, mostly because of the limitations of the original premise. Saitama appears very little, and other heroes gain more focus. The show ends up turning into a more traditional shounen, with endless battles with several phases, transformations, etc.
The one thing I loved about the first season was precisely this lack of seriousness and build-up. One Punch Man was kinda the anti-Dragonball Z in that aspect. Now the battles are longer and a lot of visual effects are employed on strikes that have no significant outcome, making battle moves meaningless.
Season 2 is, in my opinion, a mediocre shounen that doesn't take advantage of its main character.
Also: I fucking hate Genos. All his power is for show, with little results. I understand that's kind of the joke, but at some point, the comedy goes away.
Season 1 was a good comedy with some fun action, season 2 was mediocre action with some comedy bits.
I know someone will criticize me for looking for the compilation instead of watching the series, but I honestly tried and found the pacing way too slow. It was VERY hard to find this download. My impression is that Attack on Titan has a lot of good concepts, but is not as good as most people think. It's basically a very cheesy melodrama with great battles in between. I must emphasize: VERY CHEESY, and not very convincing at that. Not for me.
I don't think Dr. Stone is the super-awesome-anime-of-the-year people are making it out to be, but it's pretty great and fun.

This episode shows the first real confrontation between the realm of science and the realm of force(?), IDK. Very entertaining, and things do resolve in a "sciency" way, by Suika taking the foes in the direction of the poisonous gas. Didn't blow my mind or anything, though.
