Into the second week we go. And I feel like this will be both a very good season, but also incredibly disappointing. Disappointing due to all the delays from covid-19. Every week I worry which show I like will end up being delayed this time. But hey, maybe this virus is what makes the anime industry finally change and modernize a bit. Go digital so everyone could continue working from home. Or maybe even changing completely from the rush to finish each episode barely on time each week, to maybe having the entire season essentially finished before the show even airs. But, with my limited knowledge of Japan, they will probably do absolutely nothing at all and things will continue as normal once this is over.

    2020 Spring Week 2

Shironeko Project ZERO CHRONICLE Ep 2
Wow, while this episode is better than the first one. This is still a complete shit show, and completely terrible waste of time and money. And while I am going to give it another episode, about 90% certain I am dropping this. The pacing is all over the place, characters are garbage clichés that are not interesting, the animation is terrible, and I hate many of the voice actors. At least the music is somewhat decent.

But stuff like the green haired chick falling in love at first sight with the main character after he saved her, moments after she killed 3 of the same monsters without trouble. Just stupid old clichés that are not performed well. Dislike as well how obvious the OP and ED make the end goal of this show, we already know how this is going to end. Main character for the darkness will meet the main character for the light, fall in love and marry, and save the world from that big mean darkness we saw in the middle of the episode. If you are going to go super predictable, at least do something else interesting with it to go along.

My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! Ep 3
Oh man I love this show. Katarina is such a fun character, but also as dense as a blackhole. Blackhole would be a good description of her regardless, with how quickly she pulls everyone into a semi romantic relationship with her. I wonder how long it is going to be before she realizes that she is not going to end with the doom end, if ever. I cannot wait for more of the school arc with them grown up, since this is when the meat of the show will occur obviously.

Gerald is an amazing prince, and I kinda feel bad for the guy. Like he is going to have to fend off all of these romantic rivals that Katarina is picking up without even realizing it. And she will not even notice what is going on around her, or all of his effort to keep her his.

Princess Connect! Re: Dive Ep 2
Wow, this might be my favorite anime of the season, looking really likely. I have just fallen completely in love with these characters. None of them I feel are going to be super deep, or incredible that does something super new. But they are great fun and enjoyable characters and fill the clichés in a self-aware that I just love.

The comedy is going to push this to great levels as well. While I love series anime, or cute girls shows. Sometimes a simple lighthearted show based on gags and simple enjoyable jokes is the best one. I do not have to think deeply on what is going on, just enjoy the ride.

Not going to stop praising the animation and visuals of this show ether. Still keeping it up with the incredible quality. But the Voice Actors are doing a great job also, they fit the characters really well and just mix together in a fun way. Though the guy at the restaurant telling them about guilds had a really odd voice.

    APPARE-RANMAN! Ep 2
This show is just 12 episodes right, because I hope not. I do not see how they can fit a satisfying story into the rest of the 10 episodes of traveling across the county in just 10 episodes. We still do not have the full cast of characters or the car they will drive. The best bet I can think of is building the car and entering the race in the next episode. And just not really getting a full introduction to many of the characters, but even that feels super rushed. So, they will spend the next episode still introducing more characters which leaves the actual race extraordinarily little time for the distance they need to travel and various wacky hijinks that will occur along the way.

Do not get me wrong, I am enjoying the characters thus far. Xialian seems like a really fun character I will just love. I want to learn more about Hototo and what he is looking for. Want to learn the backstory of Kosame and why he does not use his swords, which will become a plot point later on obviously when he is forced to use them. But telling the stories and getting me even more interested in all these characters, and the others that have not been introduced yet does not seem possible in the time given.

Kaguya-sama: Love is War? Ep 2
While I enjoy the show, it has one major issue for me. It is not far enough in the manga. While I enjoy them trying to get one over each other, the later chapters get so much better for me. The back and forth just kinda gets tiring, so the future progress was really welcomed personally. Hoping we get to some of that this season, though I feel like the moment it changes might be the ending of the season.

    2010 Spring Throwback Week 2

    Kiss x Sis Ep 2
My thoughts were not entirely terrible following the first episode. But after this episode they have dropped really fast. Keita’s entire attitude and personality seems to have changed completely in just a single episode. It went from just being tired and wanting to be done with the sisters, to be a massive sis-con and trying to take a peek at them and romance them constantly. Definitely not the way I was hoping this would progress at all, but it follows the synopsis better.

    Night Raid 1931 Ep 2
This time we did not get as much focus on their abilities and what they can do, and more the normal activities that they do. At the same time this felt almost fully character focused, building the characters to help understand who they are. And I feel like it kinda worked, I enjoyed the pacing and seeing what they normally do when not in action scenes.

I hope that we get a bit more backstory to their abilities though. It is the one odd non-realistic part of the show that really needs expanding on. Along with more of their goals for doing the job, what are they working towards.

House of Five Leaves Ep 2
So, another slow episode that I cannot help but feel does not really go anywhere at all. Just this slow building of various people hanging out and a samurai doing odd jobs to make some money. I am sure this is perfectly fine for many people, but for me at the moment. It all just feels kinda dull and boring and kinda pointless.

Also, I cannot enjoy the visual style of the show at all. Everyone ends up looking like a pale vampire, with how long their faces are and colorless their skin is. Just a very strange style.

    The Tatami Galaxy Ep 1
Well this is another one of those cult-following arthouse shows, which I just do not understand at all. And will get destroyed by the fan-base for not liking it or understanding it at all. But after the first episode, it does nothing for me at all. The visuals are unique and interesting and not the normal style which is great. But I do not understand the story of this at all, and what is going to happen at all. Is this fellow actually a god? What tone is this show trying to have?

But by far my biggest issue with the episode is the speed. Holy shit this was way too quick to actually read and understand what was happening. I felt like I was watching it on 2x speed, but I was not, that was just the normal speed. Just stop and breath, slow down a bit, and give me a chance to actually read and comprehend what is going on and match it up with the visuals. So, from the first episode, I do not know if I am actually going to really like this show, but I doubt it.

That's not to say they don't get better as they go along, but if you're not invested after the first episode or two, I don't think either is really up your alley... particularly Five Leaves. I liked the pace and the writing so much I binge-watched that over the course of a day; I can't imagine it's going to make much of an impression on you with one episode a week, especially if you're watching like nine shows at a time.
