Well I have wrapped up the shows for this season, and the 2010 season. Always feels good to finally be done with a large number of shows and look forward to things to come. The standout shows for me were The Tatami Galaxy and Princess Connect! Re:Dive. With Kaguya-sama: Love is War? being just as good as expecting, though I feel like it was a weaker season than the first on the story side but better visually. I still have two movies to watch the coming week from the 2010 season. Overall the season wasn't a standout amazing season, just kinda average. And I'm really concerned with the future of the industry with the virus disrupting things so severely, yet in generally still seeming unwilling to adapt and change. Along with 12 episode shows limiting the stories and characters, I just wonder how much longer it can continue like it is.

But anyhow, here are the final reviews and thoughts on stuff. And next week will hopefully be 2 movie reviews, don't know if they will be short paragraphs or full reviews though.

    2020 Spring Week 13

Princess Connect! Re: Dive Ep 13
Wow, I just loved this show. And I really loved the ending. It finished off enough of the story that it feels complete and I’m satisfied. But still leaves enough unanswered questions and the larger story to make you want to play the game or watch future seasons.

Overall, this is one of the best shows of the season for me. It wasn’t a super deep or complicated, but it was a real simple fun show. And really that is what I need sometimes, just a show with characters I love and enjoyable plots.

Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Ep 11
I said this with the previous episode, but I’m actually believing that somewhere in here is a good show. Overall, I actually liked this episode. It slowed down and didn’t have any crazy action scenes. Instead it was just a good character focused episode trying to build out this student’s story and life.

The issue of course is that it just comes too late. I had to suffer through half a season of terrible generic action to get to this point. And now they don’t have time to make any of this have a conclusion that will work well.

Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Ep 12
And I am finished with the show. And I have really mixed feelings about it. The pacing wasn’t great, with the first half being essentially wasted but the second part feeling kinda rushed. The cast of characters just don’t get enough time if your name isn’t Major or Batou or Togusa. Visually the show looks incredibly dated, specially compared to other shows that arrived this season like Princess Connect. And the story in the second half of the show has some good potential, but just doesn’t have enough time.

I think this show could have been improved on by a massive amount by not splitting it up in 2 seasons. Release it as a 24-episode show, so that the pacing could be relaxed in this first half and spend more time developing.

    2010 Spring Week 13

    Night Raid 1931 Ep 13
This show is finally over, and I don’t know what has happened with it. All I can think of is they did too much. Honestly, I’m unsure. It is just at some point that it feels like it got overly complicated and they didn’t do a great job at bringing it to a conclusion. And probably needed 24 episodes to tell the full story and make me really enjoy it.

I liked the characters but feel like they could have been better. Many of them just kinda showed up and didn’t get fleshed out all that well. Overall, they just didn’t connect with me the way I wanted.

IDK, I guess it was a fine show. Just didn’t do anything for me.

You were hot and cold on Tatami Galaxy, what changed your mind if I could ask?

Just finished Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun and I love it. I'm pretty new to shojo in general but it's been growing a lot on me recently. I love every character in this manga and it makes me feel really nostalgic of my high school days, which I think is lovely. After finishing the manga I started the anime, I'm in the fourth episode so far and I love the opening song and the art/animation.
I recommend this one if you're the romantic type :).

Bit of an announcement, but Seven Seas has licensed "The Demon Girl Next Door" aka "Machikado Mazoku" for translation and distribution, and this is my one series that I'm willing to follow an ongoing for because it has the build of a gag a day strip, but the status quo is changing just enough to keep your attention and give you the feeling that the world that is being built in the background is about to come flooding into focus real quick like.
