Last night, I was just randomly browsing CrunchyRoll, and came across Thunderbolt Fantasy. At first, based on the poster thumbnail, I thought "hm, this looks like CG with character design akin to Final Fantasy". So I start watching and ... it turns out this show was made with puppets! Very, very elaborately made puppets, with finely detailed costumes and props. In combination with some CG and music and sound effects. The production quality is relatively impressive, but every few minutes, I couldn't help but keep exclaiming to myself "I can't believe this is done with puppets!" Worth a watch of the first 10 mins or so at least.

More mundanely, I finished Love, Chunibyo, and Other Delusions, and am up-to-date with Haikyu, and am working my way through RWBY (currently season 5).

I’ve been reading the Dragonball manga. It’s not a explosion of joy, because I already watched the anime as a kid and know a lot of things, but it’s comforting and fun. The first phase, when Goku is still a child, is the only I’m interested in. I like to close gaps in my knowledge of pop culture.

DBZ and Dragonball Super are mostly a humorless, never ending game of cosmic dick measuring, exaggerated reactions and “So you think that’s over!?!? I have only revealed one hundredth of my true power!!!!!!”. A waste of time, IMHO.
