What have you been watching and reading this week? You don't need to give us a whole essay if you don't want to, but please write something! Feel free to talk about something you saw that was cool, something that was bad, ask for recommendations, or anything else you can think of.

If you want to, feel free to find the thing you're talking about and link to its pages on Anilist, MAL, or any other database you use!

Binged Blend-S after finishing Demi-chan wa Kataritai. (Unfortunately I lost that comment before posting it.)

    My opinions:

    (Spoilers)

Not sure if the running gag/recurring theme of Maika managing to do her job by accidentally saying mean things with a scary look to the customers when trying to be nice to them is that funny to me honestly. It makes sense given she is raised to be a cartoonishly sheltered tradgirl but I simply feel awkward watching her be all like:

"I'm going to be nice to the customers!"

    Then accidentally saying something mean

then having the customers being 'happy' about it (euphemism)

Then her being "no, I didn't mean to say that!",

With everyone else reacting like: "You're playing a sadist character, you're doing your job right."

(Also IMO the times where she does play her character deliberately feel like plot magic.)

I would have found it interesting it if there was some more focus on the other characters going about their jobs (although I can imagine the time constraints for the 12-episode format on that influencing that choice). They were only very occasionally shown doing their jobs, mostly to play a gag, although they definitely were funny, most so the Mafuyu rejection one IMO.

Is not introducing 2 of 7 (arguably) main characters until halfway through the show unusual?

I liked the episode where Mafuyu and Kaho study together since it shows the 2 characters interacting together in a more personal manner and would like more of that if the anime ever gets a season 2.

The intro is definitely catchy. Still skipped it a few times tho tbh. The outro is neat (and 90% about Maika, who is clearly the "main-est" character.)

The beach episode came earlier than I expected.

"He may look like like a girl, but he's 100% a man otherwise!" Dino does a redpill moment /s (Hideri is an "Otoko-no-ko" character, alternatively known as a "trap".)

    (Note on the term "trap")

Apparently there are people calling Trans Women traps, which is a really powerful poison to any word to a large share of progressives. Be careful using that term in an anime-like context, and generally avoid it when it comes to referring to people.

"Black hair is justice. I regret nothing." (Line from somewhere halfway in the anime from the manager/Dino talking to a cop about Maika)

    I found this moment Based.

The manager being depicted as attractive is a bit cursed in relation to his character.

The moment where the manager tries to corner Maika in her work was to me one of those moments where you just need to cringe through if you don't stop for a moment to collect yourself to be honest.

Various characters reporting Dino to the police throughout the show for something he does (mostly out-of-context but not always) is amusing.

The "horny jail"-esque gag of Mafuyu not allowing (16 year old) Kaho to read 18+ work and similar moments are amusing, if requiring a large amount of suspension of disbelief and perhaps being a bit rude.

There weren't that many moments where Hideri actually interacted seriously beyond just being an idol

"Dino has an Aunt?" (shown in a picture where you would guess he had a wife)

The Mutandine line is quite funny.

Miu being the character with all the fantasies (euphemism) is greatly amusing. (Although I feel we don't see that much of her beyond this gag.)

The episode where the dog (one of the characters that pops up in the show) goes through similar feelings as Dino does is amusing.

I had a long watching for Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu, if believe to record from AniDB then the first episode for me was in 9th April, so it was near 4 months. Battle animation is really bad. The last arc of story is kinda in rush. And, yeah, anime is enough old. But story, how the drawing shows it, and many little things are so good, so anime for me is near top-1 if not the one.
