What have you been watching and reading this week? You don't need to give us a whole essay if you don't want to, but please write something! Feel free to talk about something you saw that was cool, something that was bad, ask for recommendations, or anything else you can think of.

If you want to, feel free to find the thing you're talking about and link to its pages on Anilist, MAL, or any other database you use!

Here is which 1~2 episode/s I liked from the new season, and would try to keep a watching. An order is alphabetical.

    • Akebi-chan no Sailor Fuku. Maybe the anime has the best drawing in the season. Itʼs just about girl school life, especially about Akebi-chan which loves a school sailor-style uniform. But be careful, some fetishes can be awaken.

    • Hakozume: Kōban Joshi no Gyakushū. About two policewomen, a comedy with sometime non-comedy elements.

    • Sabikui Bisco. Hard to desribe, something about mushrooms (hello, Dorohedoro), diseases as rust-like, and a word with deserts.

    • Slow Loop. About fishing. Yes, you can think about it as an alternative of Hōkago Teibou Nisshi from previous year I wanted to write, yeah, but it is from 2020. My time sensor is broken.

    • Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi o Suru. Same, an alternative of Runway de Waratte which is also from 2020. But I already prefer this because: less of typical battle shōnen elements; better drawing.

What I liked but dropped cause of too much animes but if I have time machine as Hermione then I maybe watch.

    • Fantasy Bishoujo Juniku Ojisan to. Two guys isekaied with their whishes. The first wants a solid girl, and the second wants to be a girl because he isnʼt popular among girls and women as the first. So it a comedy which included twisted BL with extra step as gender swap.

    • Kaijin Kaihatsubu no Kuroitsu-san. Comedy in style Sentōin, Haken Shimasu! + Meikyū Black Company with parodies on Tokusatsu.

    • Leadale no Daichi nite. Comfy comedy isekai in game-style with elf-girl as main character.

Not a small list of old animes

    • Blade Runner: Black Lotus continues from the pervious season but will soon end.

    • Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku Hen continues from the pervious season.

    • Lupin Sansei: Part 6 continues from the pervious season.

    • Oūsama Ranking continues from the pervious season as a second part. If you did not watch it in previous season then I strongly recommend. Donʼt afraid the style drawing.

    • Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season (2022)

    • Vanitas no Karte (2022)

I've been watching Heike Monogatari. It's a surprisingly refreshing historical drama. The production is an artistic achievement all in and of itself; the visual design of the characters, the colors, and the backgrounds are all reminiscent of the woodblock prints of the era. And even though there is a lot of death and war going around, the prevailing tone tends to be fairly light; it almost has this slice-of-life quality to it. And whenever the family goes through any major milestones, the main character sort of transforms to this mystical form who sings hauntingly beautiful songs about the event. It's all very tastefully done; the visuals do not show the gore and death, but we still experience it through the disturbingly descriptive lyrics of the song that accompanies it.
