If you make woodblock prints for a living, you know the name Hokusai, and if you’re a woodblock carver and you hear about original drawings from Hokusai that have never been carved into prints you would most likely do a little happy dance.
This video is, like all the British Museum Curator's Corner videos, an interesting little nugget of history. What's different with this one is that Dave has a series of videos with a more in depth look into this project which may take Some Time to complete.
I went to see a Hokusai exhibition at the British Museum, and a later Japanese art exhibit which had more and there are some amazing drawings in there. I'm excited to follow this one further.
I love their channel, and especially curator's corner. I am hoping this new influx of users means I can start posting more of them, and actually have them get some responses. :) p.s. Speaking of...
