    DC Universe Infinite Ultra offers:

    • New issues added a month after print release.
    • An expanded library of DC, Black Label, and Vertigo Comics. (Sandman Presents: Dead Boy Detectives, 100 Bullets, and American Vampire, and more.)
    • A soft copy of "The Death of Superman 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition."
    • A $100/yr introductory price. ($99.99 USD a year in the US, $119.99 CAN in Canada, $134.99 AUD in Australia, $134.99 NZD in New Zealand and £72.99 BPS in the U.K., plus applicable taxes)
    • In addition, DC YA Graphic Novels and select issues of MAD Magazine will be added to BOTH tiers.

$100/yr isn't exactly an impulse purchase but, but it's a decent enough upgrade to the existing service, and a big shot across the bow of Comixology after the disaster of a relaunch. If you're following a DC book every Tuesday, and you can live with a month delay (but not six), this may be for you. The one thing that could put this over the top is if it has the entire Vertigo catalog, but the standard service has plenty IMO, especially since they're getting the Graphic Novels too.

Why are they still giving it a whole month delay? It seems totally bizarre to me that they want to punish digital readers in 2022. I don't really read comics anymore so maybe there is something I...

I don't really read comics anymore so maybe there is something I am missing, but I'd be kind of upset if Netflix started releasing episodes of a show I like weeks/months earlier on Blu-Ray than on their streaming service.

Comics are particularly problematic as they are also part of a collectable market so they aren’t going to transition entirely to digital in the foreseeable future. Comics actively court collector mentality because it often results in selling multiple of the same issue with a relatively minor cosmetic change, such as alternate cover art.

From my understanding a lot of comics get sold to comic book stores indirectly through distributors, so it is extremely unwise for them to piss them off and risk them dropping your business altogether - even if you are one of the largest comic book publishers on the market.

These mentalities encourage piracy. And while I don't normally condone piracy, I feel a lot less bad about it when the "victim" imposes asinine restrictions like this.

Maybe so but I would like to think that DC is aware of this. Maybe they are taking the same kind of strategy as mobile games; they push a lot of resources to average people knowing they may not...
