Can I turn a closed Windows 11 laptop on and off?

I'm a Linux and big old tower PC guy.

I know next to nothing about laptops or Windows.

Is it possible to keep a Windows 11 laptop closed, but still be able to turn it on and off?

So there's probably a way to turn it on when it's closed, but you need to check in the firmware to see what that laptop supports.

And you also might need to change the Windows power settings to not just immediately sleep when the lid is closed.

Running laptops with the lid closes is as easy as adjusting the power settings, turning them on with it closed is the hard part. This difficulty is why I used to prefer the Dell Latitude models that had a docking station connector since the docking station has its own power button (Dell killed this off sadly). As was already mentioned, you may be able to enable Wake on Lan in the BIOS/UEFI settings and use that to turn the laptop on.
