Unfortunately I can't try this out right now, I feel my ThinkPad would probably have to work to run Win2K even on bare metal, but I'll be sure to do so tonight on my desktop. Win2K is probably among my favorite releases of Windows ever, it combined the super functional aesthetics of Win9x while being so much more stable, it was noticeably faster then XP, and although it was rare to find on consumer desktops, it was a real treat when you did. It's a shame it doesn't get as much attention as the releases surrounding it, and I can't wait to see how it works on a web browser :D

Loading this win2k vm has brought back a lot of fond memories of when I was in University, playing games like Subspace, Infantry Online, and Half Life 2 mods.

I poke my head in from time to time. I also had the box, actually two because I told my mom when she was heading into the city to buy me it but if she didn't see it not to bother because I would buy it as soon as I saw it, she thought she could hold onto it a couple months until my birthday. I was a huge subspace nerd, originally downloaded it when it was still called Sniper on Tucows.

W2000 is such a cool bit of software; ignored by basically everyone, yet the best Windows up until they released Windows 8 in 2011/12.
