As someone who recently (about 6 months ago) started a job developing a codebase that uses Elixir/Phoenix framework for its backend, it’s been eminently pleasant to work with and I can’t help but do a little evangelizing!
We’re nowhere near the scale or complexity of Discord, but Elixir and all the Erlang/OTP goodies it builds upon nonetheless feel like the “right” choice for almost any modern web project.

Elixir seems wonderful and I have heard so much praise - it's on my list for next piece of technology to learn for sure.
