Here's a short explanatory text I posted last time:

The people in these paintings, I don't know them personally. They are first drawin in charcoal and then painted, from a photograph. The title and visual might give a hint to what kind of photos they are. I found (American) internet archives, listing millions of entries of people picked up and documented by the police. There was a lot of additional information about them. Some were sexual predators and murderers, others had drug offenses. Some couldn't pay a parking ticket. I was able to look at an overwhelming amount of information, without any barriers to entry.

That this was legal I found very disturbing. I'm not from the U.S. But putting moral judgements aside, I found it interesting to browse this huge database, full of involuntary photos.

I was looking for faces that spoke to me, visually speaking. And those I tried to paint. Not photorealistic, but hopefully true to their essence and character. And visually appealing, atleast to my own taste.

Again, looking forward to any opinions, thoughts or criticism.
