    Woah, that's surreal! That first drone shot is the road I used to drive on several times a week to get to community college, and at 1:07 you can see my middle school in the background.

    For what it's worth, the shake table is a loooong way from the rest of the UCSD campus - it's basically just a bit of uninhabitable desert that they bought from the Marines right outside a suburb.

    Was anyone else struck by the absurdity of "replaying an earthquake"? It sounds like it would be really useful in context, but outside of that context the idea of "scientists have a greatest hits...

    Was anyone else struck by the absurdity of "replaying an earthquake"? It sounds like it would be really useful in context, but outside of that context the idea of "scientists have a greatest hits list of their favorite earthquakes" struck me as super wacky.
