    Mexico can't even enforce laws against booger sugar in their current state. This seems like more of a symbolic move to me... Maybe this is me oversimplifying things, but this isn't going to change...

      To be fair, neither can the USA. People like drugs, and criminalizing them just makes more criminals than it reduces drug users. I don't doubt it will have minimal impact, but even a little...

      I don't doubt it will have minimal impact, but even a little progress forward is better than nothing I suppose.

        I mean the US had a "war on drugs". Mexico has a war raging over drugs between their police and the cartels where the police need mounted machineguns on their trucks to fight back. Not quite the same.
