These people are shameless. Science: "Here's all the evidence that this helps people." Them: "Absolutely not"

"We are convinced that Swedes use plastic bags wisely in their daily lives and that there is no reason why they should be more expensive," Minister for Climate and the Environment Romina Pourmokhtari told Swedish public broadcaster SVT.

This decision comes a week after the government announced its intention to reduce taxes on petrol and diesel, a move criticised by opposition parties.

The current Swedish government killed the department for environment and "merged" it with the department for business. The minister for environment reports to the minister for business

This just makes me sad. Aligning economic incentives with environmental goals givea a much larger likelihood of successfully reaching those goals. Making environmentally friendly choices a matter...

This just makes me sad. Aligning economic incentives with environmental goals givea a much larger likelihood of successfully reaching those goals. Making environmentally friendly choices a matter of personal morality just doesn't work. If it did we'd all be vegan (exluding a few with special dietary requirements).
