The title is a bit misleading about the root cause which I had guessed might be the case since fishing quotas aren't just arbitrarily imposed to hurt industry and consumers. Unfortunately, this kind of thing is just going to become more common as climate change gets worse.
I'm not a vegetarian, but I do try to consume more plant based proteins and foods to limit my carbon impact. I guess my habits might also benefit those that really don't want to give up their daily herring or fish and chips.
