Round of applause to these ladies. And I’ve no doubt those dogs are absolutely loving every minute of their new adventures.

The Torres sisters pay for all the seeds themselves, as well as the supplies for the dogs and the transportation costs of getting to the forest.

Interesting idea. We got to see the forest regrow up close and personally when a wildfire came through our rural subdivision this past summer. We are bounded by thousands of acres of forest on one side and it burned out in May. It looked horrible, for about a month. After that it was already clear that the forest was regenerating. By the fall it was amazing the amount of ground cover there was. You could see the branchless trees were still scorched 10 feet up from the base, but there was nothing black left to see on the ground. It was all covered with new grass, small brush and tree shoots, some of which were already 3 or 4 ft tall. By next summer its going to be very hard to tell that our forest was a black hole in May.
