    Last year my South American capital city had water supply issues for the first time ever. It never got to day zero, but just because they started mixing fresh water with sea water. It was hard, I can't imagine having no water at all.

        Not entirely, they told us to try not to drink it, mostly because of the sodium levels. They actually said it was fine unless you had blood pressure issues, but for everything that wasn't drinking...

        Not entirely, they told us to try not to drink it, mostly because of the sodium levels. They actually said it was fine unless you had blood pressure issues, but for everything that wasn't drinking at least you had water in the pipes.
        What really bothered me about the situation was that they were late to notify the population. A few weeks before they acknowledged they were doing it, the water started tasting salty to me.

        It really depends on what the water system is made of. The poisoning of Flint, MI was because of changing the salinity of the water going through the system.
