It's such a seriously flawed concept from so many angles, in ways that have been known since Gore was relevant, and yet waaaaay too many people who purportedly care about climate change seem to think it's actually legit in any meaningful way.

Sadly it serves a valuable purpose in postponing any painful movement (either for the populace or those profiting from the current state) and so I suspect isn't going anywhere.

From what I've read it seems this moron was just extra greedy/dumb about the whole thing. I wouldn't be shocked if there's several other firms doing the same thing but better. Hell most of them are smart enough to shift the blame onto "local outsourced experts" so when it turns out they committed fraud and didn't do half the shit that was promised it makes the company the victim, and oh what a shame they're all in a country that could give a fuck all about US jurisdiction.

God the whole idea is just so hopelessly naive and I'm sure is going to be laughed at by future generations.
