I did not see any mention of the method to be used, but years ago there was talk of using plasma to convert refuse into fuel without noxious byproducts. Is this what they are talking about here?

I have no idea what method they'll be using to burn this waste. I've read a few articles about this sort of thing, but they all just talk about burning the waste to produce energy without mentioning exactly what sort of "burning" is involved. To be honest, I've always assumed they mean tossing the waste onto a big fire, just like we do with coal! For example, this similar project mentioned in this article will be using a converted coal-fired power plant, so I assume the method used to burn waste isn't too different to the method used to burn coal.

I fully support the basic concept of getting one more use out of our refuse, I just hope that the regulations are strong regarding dioxin release!
