Are you familiar with Sea Sheppard? They were started by Paul Watson who co-founded Greenpeace IIRC and left because they weren't radical enough. They use non-violent tactics like throwing stink...

They use non-violent tactics like throwing stink bombs on the decks of the whalers and following them in a way that blocks them from harvesting whales. There is (or was, I cut the cable years ago) a docuseries on Animal Planet about them. Some people find them too extreme but I think they are a great organization from what I know.
As a former Greenpeace volunteer I can tell you that they are really not equipped for that. Greenpeace has a single tiny yacht - Rainbow Warrior 3 - that is really no match for a commercial...
