      to be honest, those people wouldn't matter so much were it not for the fact that some of them have enough institutional power to make climate change a political issue and not an existential one....

      to be honest, those people wouldn't matter so much were it not for the fact that some of them have enough institutional power to make climate change a political issue and not an existential one. if they didn't, we wouldn't be having this conversation probably, and while there might still be a contingent of climate change deniers and similar people, they'd be more like novelties than actual problems to be navigated around.

    The United States has allocated tens of millions of dollars in aid in recent years for farmers across Central America, including efforts to help them adapt to the changing climate.

    But President Trump has vowed to cut off all foreign aid to Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador because of what he calls their failure to curb the flow of migrants north.
