I'm a couple of hours north of Sydney atm, and can confirm - it is very hot and smoky.
Earlier in the day there was a weird red glow in the smoke that was covering the sky. It all felt very apocalyptic.
Apparently there is a cool change about an hour an a half away - I can't wait.
Perth region here - hope you guys are alright, ABC footage makes it look really bad over there. Perth's been doing okay up until a few days ago when the Yanchep national park area started burning but it's being controlled now.
Also a fire down south near Collie. Thankfully WA has been spared this time of the scale of the eastern states bushfires.
