The solar power aspect of the site is a really neat concept... but the "power level" UI element that takes up the entire screen and applies a colour filter to everything under it is pretty ugly...

Though thankfully it's an easy fix, and adding solar.lowtechmagazine.com###battery to my uBlock filter removed it.
Yeah, I like the little thing on the side but the color is a bit distracting. Not sure what they could do to make it obvious but not hit you over the head with it, though.
