Abridged conversation between Greg Graffin (GG), David Sloan Wilson (DSW), and Kevin Kniffin (KK) on the intersection between punk rock and “this view of life” (evolutionary theory).

The tendency to apply popularized explanations from evolutionary theory to everything in economics and politics is generally oriented around older competition-centric models. I've been reading up on Elinor Ostrom's cooperation-centric models and those of her successors, and stumbled into this fascinating interview with Greg Graffin. He's not just one of the founding members of the seminal punk band, Bad Religion, but a professor of evolutionary biology. Here, he's interviewed by David Sloan Wilson, who's applying evolutionary models of cooperation to public policy, and Kevin Kniffen, the director of Cornell University's Laboratory for Experimental Economics and Decision Research.
