This morning, Chinese passenger car sales data for the first two weeks of February were released and showed a shocking decline of 92% yoy. In the first 16 days of the month, only about 5,000 passenger cars were sold compared to nearly 60,000 in the same period of last year. According to China’s Automobile Dealers Association, dealers expect passenger car sales to decline by 50%-80% yoy for the full month of February.
